FLORAL FUN

Enjoying a tiny, caffeinated cuppa in front of our former shop on the West Highland Way. That repurposed chest of drawers / planter was one of the best ‘Pinspirations’ ever. Just look at those happy flowers popping like actual popcorn. The key to keeping the planter around for more than a year of bipolar Scottish weather? Yacht varnish. It required yearly coats with tons of that sticky - tedious to work with but necessary - stuff. When living through the ever-changing elements here, all painted wooden furniture living outside should have protection.

MY VERSION OF BULLETPROOF COFFEE: WHY I'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER A YEAR.

Anyways, if I've been consuming a good amount of my coffee throughout the morning, I don't really get any hunger pains till about 2ish. This is one of the reasons I drink the coffee. It truly helps to keep the hunger away until later in the day when that eating window opens up. The oils (or butter if you're using it) really and truly keep that hunger at bay.

DO THESE TWO "CHILDISH" EXERCISES POST HASTE: ALL ABOUT THE HULA HOOP & TRAMPOLINE

So this week the weather here in my neck of the woods has gone back to being completely bipolar, with splashes of sun mingled in with all this Noah's Ark rain and wind and chaos. With all the weather nonsense, walks in natural surroundings I was happily blogging about a few weeks ago aren't as accessible as I want them to be, so they quite simply aren’t happening every day. Also, the regular yoga has taken more of a back seat at the moment as I want to get more active and move around more right now. I think that’s part of the whole fit thing, going with YOUR own flow and doing what feels right for YOU on any given day. This is me lately. And I feel like Hula Hooping and jumping on my Mini Trampoline :)

GETTING COLOURFUL & CREATIVE. TAP INTO YOUR CREATIVITY.

In my angsty teen years I would often paint my “blue periods” (Thank you for that term Picasso - so accurate). But later on I began to paint more and more of what I want to see in my life, not just whatever sh*t I was thinking or feeling at that time. Almost painting like a vision board. I have been getting back to this lately. Painting what I want to see.

A COUPLE OF WAYS TO THINK OF YOUR SKIN - AND CARE FOR IT.

This week I’m feeling somewhat sassy - maybe a dash of dark and dramatic - Courtney Love vibe, and she (and Hole) just so happen to have a classic from back in the day called “Celebrity Skin”.  Even though the song itself is not exactly about taking care of your skin, I’m just going to go with it and throw it in.  Also - twas a “Black Supermoon” last night, and that seems very Courtney-esque to me? Right? Okay, enjoy and then we talk about skin and such.

WALKING OUTSIDE: BRINGING BACK THIS HABIT HAS HELPED THE OL’ BRAIN & HAPPILY – THE BUNS.

Walking. Over the years this simple exercise has helped me feel like a God-honest better human being whenever I incorporate it into my regular routine. The simple act of putting on a pair of walking shoes and leaving the safe haven of my house, of stepping into the great big natural world outside has made my head space, and a happy bonus, gotten my buns in a much better state.

THINK ANTI-ACNE & ANTI-AGING: ALOE VERA - A GORGEOUS INGREDIENT & PLANT TO ALWAYS KEEP AROUND.

I’ve opted to lose myself in some books (MUCH LOVE to you Stephen King) and TV shows (MUCH LOVE to Netflix & Stranger Things). One of the Stephen King books I read is titled: “Insomnia”. And yes, I have had a couple of bouts of insomnia. As you can probably deduce, I have not gotten as much beauty rest as I probably should have.  Which all of this stuff combined, oddly brings me to this post about Aloe Vera. L.O.L.
