We loved this space. We’ve since enjoyed repurposing & fitting everything into our home & garden.
Once upon a time in San Diego…
An artsy, fairytale-inspired esthetician from LA, met a glowing Glaswegian Renaissance man, and a perfect match was made. Shortly thereafter, they moved from California to Scotland, settling in the countryside outside Glasgow.
They eventually opened a shop on The West Highland Way, decorated it in their whimsical, old-school aesthetic, and stocked the shelves with her hand-crafted green potions, inspired creations and gorgeous gifty things. They kept that magic little space open for several years, but times changed and a new chapter was needed. They packed up the physical shop, returning it to its online roots in December 2023.

new year, new chapter…
After closing the shop at the end of 2023, much of 2024 was spent in mulling mode. We’ve now ventured into 2025, and it’s time to turn that proverbial page again.
A big part of this new chapter is about bringing the blog back to life. With a focus on living an inspired, creative, colorful, and balanced lifestyle. There will be natural skincare recipes, tips & tricks from the apothecary side of life. There will be a dash of fearless food snobbery with recipes from our kitchen, using tasty, natural, whole-food ingredients. There will be nonfiction musings & fictional fun, art, books, beauty, and inspiration. And, there will be a touch of Magic.*

Douglas in magpie mode found this observant little guy and brought him to the shop. I enjoyed this mini mohawked one greeting the shop guests. He’s now perched in our entryway, welcoming everyone with his discerning gaze.
a new life for wave case #2
This seaweed & water inspired curio case now lives in our garden as a mini greenhouse, protecting herbs & veggies from frost in the colder winter months.
‘marina’
Marina came to us in naked yellowed porcelain, no paint. She was a fun project to bring to life. I always felt like she looked after the shop in our absence.
magical mermaid at sea
We loved creating a magic atmosphere at the shop. Suspending balloons, bubbles, boats & about a bazillion fairy lights from the ceiling was a big part of creating that vibe.
